Resartus, latin for retailored, is a series of silkscreen
prints that artist Dominic Guarnaschelli created after a commission for
the New Albany Public art project. The commission was for a sculpture
presenting the city's textile history by highlighting mills and clothing
manufacturers. Like the public sculpture, this edition includes
collages of imagery from old clothing patterns. The artist uses the
pieces from the patterns as abstracted shapes that he collages into
familiar forms.
